Showers Cubicles Installation
Instructions

Solid range

1.                  After unpacking the cubicle, inspect it for any damage. Report this immediately to Knysna Fibreglass.

Convenience range

1.                  After unpacking the tray and panels, inspect them for any damage. Report this immediately to Knysna Fibreglass.

Position the tray where it needs to be and measure to assure the correct size of the area for the panels and doors. The tray is re-enforced. No additional support is necessary underneath. This is also true for the loft and slim line trays. Attach the plumbing to the tray. The loft tray has space underneath the tray to accept a 90 bend and piping. With the slim line and regular tray, the plumbing has to go through or into the floor. 900 kit tray.JPG (481867 bytes)
Complete the plumbing for the water at the back of the chosen shower panel.

The taps/mixer and rose are mounted to the panels at the position of the re-enforcements

Identify the Left, Right and back panels individually by checking their flanges and recesses.
The left panel has a flange on the top and left when viewed from the front (the smooth side). It also as recesses at the bottom and right.
The right panel has flanges at the top and right when viewed from the front and recesses at the bottom and left.
The back panel (only for three sided kits) has a flange only at the top and recesses left bottom and right.

Measure the position of the taps/mixer and the rose on the appropriate wall panel and drill the location hole. Be sure to drill the hole from the smooth side to prevent splintering of the gel coat

These panels have been pre-drilled to fit correctly into each other. On a two sided kit, fit the right and left panels together to assure correctness. On a three sided kit, left, back a right

Take the two panels apart and silicone the recess before final assembly. Silicone recess.JPG (328753 bytes)
Rivet the panels together with 4.8x18mm rivets

After riveting the panels together, remove the excess silicone from the corner inside the shower. The silicone in the recess is sufficient to ensure a watertight fit. The silicone will support algae and mould growth eventually. To prevent this unsightly and unhygienic

Position the assembled walls on the tray with the bottom flange inside the plaster bead on the tray. Silicone inside the plaster bead to aid sealing. Inside plaster bead on tray.JPG (456101 bytes)
The walls are mounted to the bathroom by means of small 3.5 x 15 screws through the flange at the top and sides
The shower door and return panel is fitted inside the plaster bead and attached to the fiberglass walls with the hardware provided with the door/panel.
