KNYSNA IS NOW IN GAUTENG!

New day, new week, new month and lots of other new(s) things.

My name is Carol and I am privileged and extremely excited to be part of the Knysna Fibreglass team. I’ll be handling newsletters and much of the correspondence in future, and look forward to hearing from all of you and getting to know you better.

Yes, you read the heading line correctly. KFM (not the radio station, they will always be in the good old Cape) has relocated the main factory to Gauteng. Same name, different location, but I can assure you that the service will still be just as good, and knowing Len, he’s most probably going to up that service a notch or two to be even better. We still deliver nationwide and will continue to serve our customers abroad as well.

The writing and posting of the earthworm CD took much longer than anticipated. With the moving of the factory, setting up a new infrastructure, and all the other challenges (a.k.a. teething problems), last month’s newsletter fell along the way. Len apologizes for that, but if that was the only beat he skipped, he did pretty well with the relocation of the factory.

Exciting discussions going to take place about possible expansion and the creative juices are flowing with the thoughts around new products.

Tip for the month

The tip for the month is for a cockroach repellent. I think the biological name says it all, we need to get rid of them. It is eco-friendly and no dangerous chemicals are involved. Put a few slices of fresh lemon in a small foil holder (the type you usually get your meat pies in). The juice from the lemon and the foil create a reaction that cockroaches don’t like so they shy away. I would suggest that you put it where lovers of lemon (or grandchildren) don’t see it, in case they eat it (or try to feed it to the dog under protest, from the dog that is). Tell the neighbours what you’re doing, and they can tell the neighbours and so on. That way you can displace all the cockroaches in your neighbourhood.

Comix

A woman hired a contractor to repaint the interior of her house. The woman walked the man through the second floor of her home and told him what colors she wanted for each room. As they walked through the first room, the woman said, "I think I would like this room in a cream color."

The contractor wrote on his clipboard, walked to the window, opened it and yelled out, "Green side up!" He then closed the window and continued following the woman to the next room. The woman looked confused, but proceeded with her tour. "In this room, I was thinking of an off blue." Again, the contractor wrote this down, went to the window, opened it and yelled out, "Green side up!"

This baffled the woman, but she was hesitant to say anything. In the next room, the woman said she would like it painted in a light rose color. And once more, the contractor opened the window and yelled, "Green side up!"

Struck with curiosity, the woman mustered up the nerve to ask, "Why do you keep yelling 'Green side up' out my window every time I tell you the color I would like the room?"

The contractor replied, "Because I have a crew of blondes laying new lawn across the street."
