Wow, it has been two months since
our last newsletter. To everyone who has sent me more tips, thank you very much, I have had a computer software error on my database causing the loss of all data since 15 April 2011. That has driven home the point of making back-up’s more frequently. Monthly tip: Most of us have plants that are sensitive to frost. Here are a couple of ways to help them survive the winter. 1. Cover them with sheets of plastic, thatch grass or any suitable item. 2. Use Christmas lights or light bulbs to keep them warm. With a cover, this helps a lot. 3. Plant them in containers that can be moved indoors or under cover. 4. Know the microclimate in your garden, some spots would be more prone to frost than others. Keep your sensitive plants out of these areas. 5. Ensure windbreaks, the wind can cause a severe drop in temperature. Comix
